Experience an up close & behind the scenes look at the 2nd Annual Murals in the Market Festival in the Eastern Market District. We will be enjoying the new public art and vibrancy created in the Market by Inner State Gallery, 1xRUN and the Eastern Market Corporation, along with a group of sponsors. There is nothing like seeing these incredible large-scale works of art for yourself, and hearing the artists' stories.

Building on the momentum of last year's inaugural festival, incredible street art comes to life on even more buildings all over the Eastern Market District. Whether you join us during the festival to see the artists in action, or come once the murals are complete, you will not want to miss being a part of this exciting Detroit production!

FREE 1.5 hour Walking Tours during the Festival week, with live painting by the artists, brought to you by our collaboration with Inner State Gallery, 1xRUN and the Eastern Market Corporation:

Tours are FREE of charge but you MUST secure a spot in advance online, registration is on a first come, first served basis and there will not be a waiting list. Registration begins on August 18, 2016.

Meet in Shed 3 by the restrooms, 15 minutes prior to tour time to sign in.

Each participant will receive a map of the murals to continue exploring on their own in the future - we will be covering some, but certainly not all, of the 45+ new murals!

On this tour, stroll to see and meet the mural artists in action, live painting. Your knowledgeable docents will give you the inside scoop. We will explain how this project came to be and what it means to the Eastern Market District and to Detroit, as well as give a brief history and current development details about the Market.
