A Conversation About Connecting Art and Entrepreneurship
Join us as we extend a warm welcome to the Gilbert Family Foundation for an enlightening conversation about the Small Business Mural Project. For the past six years, 1XRUN has spearheaded this city-wide initiative, fostering the intersection of public art and local businesses.
The Small Business Murals Project, which was created by the Rocket Community Fund and now managed by the Gilbert Family Foundation, pairs muralists with small business owners throughout the city to create transformative, large-scale murals. The goal of the project is two-fold: to spur business growth for participating entrepreneurs and to create one-of-a-kind art in Detroit neighborhoods that brings people together.
7 pm - 9 pm Talk and Conversation “Connecting Art and Entrepreneurship.”

Kevin Lyons Artist Talk + Hues & Harmony
1XRUN’s Jesse Cory sits down and talks with Kevin Lyons.
Kevin’s artistic voyage began in the bustling streets of New York City, where he painted on stage alongside live music and DJs during the legendary Giant Step parties. These events marked the intersection of groundbreaking art and music, and Kevin was right there, in the front seat.
But that was just the beginning. Kevin's creative prowess has left an indelible mark on numerous iconic brands, from the likes of Nike and Stussy to Urban Outfitters and beyond. His influence extends across an array of domains, from the world of fashion to the realm of sneakers, and from awe-inspiring murals to the ever-evolving landscape of contemporary art.
In essence, Kevin Lyons embodies the spirit of innovation and artistic exploration, consistently pushing boundaries and redefining the very fabric of contemporary culture. It's a privilege to have him here with us today, and we can't wait to delve deeper into his creative journey and insights."
